Okay, so I realize I'm only seventeen. And I get that that's not an adult but um. For some reason I'm wearing a sailor dress. I think it's from like the 1920s or something, based on a picture I remember seeing in our APUSH book. But the upside! Is my cute bobbed hair, gotta say. It's actually pretty adorable, and I've never really considered short hair before. I think I like it.
The sailor dress, though, is like me saying "Oh hey, I'm underage still! Don't forget!"
Ah well. It's actually not horrible, just a bit shapeless and you know, wool.

Okay, so, first of all, when did it suddenly become May? And second of all .. Okay, no, I don't have a second of all. Which, I realize I should, because you can't have 1 without 2 or a) without b), but obviously I'm not succeeding today.
Um. I think my brain is stuck on MLA repeat. Also, AP test crammage. I'm good at tests! I actually sort of like the crazy nervous energy surrounding tests (shut up, I'm weird), but. Wow, there's a lot of them.
Did I mention I have flash cards? In different colors. In their own little boxes. I possibly have issues.

Closed 3rd Person - Storm Plot (backdated)
When Madison woke up on the 17th, it seemed like a completely normal day. The weather was fairly nice, and she'd gotten a ride to school with Jake, who'd decided to put the top down on his convertible. All in all, a pleasant morning. And day, and early evening. But as she was walking to a friend's house for dinner, it suddenly started to rain, and she was not entirely pleased on her choice of a pastel colored tshirt. Usually, the eight block walk wasn't a big deal, and since it had been a nice afternoon, she'd decided against driving.
And as the rain got harder, she sort of wished she could take that decision back. And then it got harder. And harder. And all she could picture was huddling underneath a bridge to get out of the relentless rain in the middle of the night on the way through Jonesboro, back when she was who she used to be, and she'd rather not remember that. And then. Well, then a tree branch was blown off a tree directly in her path, and as it careened toward her head, she reached out in a somewhat pathetic attempt to stop it that - wait, actually worked? She put on a slightly confused face as she felt a bit more strength than usual coursing through her. She felt like she had .. well, ten days ago, and grinned, pleased.
If there was going to be this awful storm, at least she had superpowers.

I don't think I really have anything against that seven. Besides maybe the barcode. That was weird. But I felt all powerful and strong and stuff! I liked that. And my homework was like, a bajillion times easier. Good day all told. Also. How is it Friday already? This week has flooooown by.
I plan to avoid AP studying and go out dancing. Who's with me?

Okay, so, Tampa, you're really crazier than ever. But I have to admit. Feeling like I was in a Cary Grant movie last Thursday? Definite highlight to my week. I felt so classy! Seriously awesome. Plus, my clothes looked really cute in black and white.

Instead of her usual alarm clock, Madison woke up to the sound of her mother yelling up the stairs. "Madison Katherine Taylor! I realize that you are old enough to have friends I don't know about, and I trust you, honey, but there is a young woman in our kitchen who looks like she's going to one of those re-enactment things. Or a Halloween party. But it's March, and she insists she's not, and that she's here to see you? So come down here right now, please!"
Madison rubbed her eyes, then pushed her covers off, throwing her legs over the side of the bed. This was a very strange way to wake up, and she assumed it was only about to get stranger. Her mother had sounded so insistent that she didn't even think to grab her robe, and walked into the kitchen in her tank top and boxers. And there, she shrieked, then rubbed her eyes again. Because sitting at her kitchen table was, well, her. Not her now, her, but other her. Scarlett O'Hara (Hamilton Kennedy Butler), complete with Reconstruction-era fashion, her large skirt spilling over the edges of her chair, staring interestedly around her at the room.

Well, that was weird. Pretty song, though. I think I heard it on The O.C. once. Will have to ask the besties about that.

Closed 3rd Person - Fanvid - Backdated to the 27th
Madison was sitting at a tv in the school library A/V section, oversize headphones on her ears. She picked up the DVD she was about to watch for extra credit and stuck it in the player. But instead of The Grapes of Wrath opening credits, Syd Matters' To All of You began playing over images of - wait, was that herself?! She blinked, but the images still came, as did the song. She stared, still not quite believing it.
To all of you
American girls it's sad to
Imagine a world without you
American girls I'd like to
Be part of the world around you
Driving a car by the seaside
Watching the world from the bright side
Valentine's date with Jake. Her seventeenth birthday. A particularly good serve during a tennis match. A mass of jumping lacrosse girls after winning a playoff game. Student council meetings. Even that awful math test when she couldn't answer one of the questions and stared at the paper for five straight minutes. Tanning on the beach with her three best friends.
To all of you
American girls in the movies
No one can tell where your heart is
And then, so fast she almost didn't recognize them: flashes of her other life. Out in the paddock, begging Ashley to run away with her to Mexico. Running through her nightmare mist to get to Rhett when she finally knew what she should have known all along.
Those images, Madison could barely look at. She closed her eyes, then opened them again, slightly afraid of what she might see.
I wish I had
an American girlfriend
Jake, at homecoming with her, their faces glowing by disco ball light.
That, that was okay.

3rd Person Intro
Madison Taylor was opposed to Thursdays. She liked most things in life, but Thursdays, no. Thursdays were just evil. Thursdays were past Wednesday, but were not yet Friday. And though Madison actually enjoyed school, a lot, in fact, she disliked Thursdays when they came before a Friday for which her boyfriend, Jake, had planned an elaborate date, the details of which he had deliberately withheld. Completely unjust!
The only suitable course of action was, obviously, to consume the rest of the mint chocolate chip ice cream in the freezer. Accompanied with a side of a ten-page paper about New Deal politics for AP US History, and some fitting music on her iPod. She grabbed the carton of ice cream, a spoon, and her textbook, and plopped herself down at the kitchen table, ready for action.
